Silica dust testing in California

Crystalline silica is a fine dust made by cutting, grinding, or drilling concrete, stone, brick, and engineered stone countertops. Air monitoring measures how much of it workers breathe in.

When people ask

  • Cutting, grinding, or drilling concrete, stone, or masonry
  • Fabricating or installing stone or engineered stone countertops
  • An employer needs air monitoring results for its exposure program

The credential

California doesn't issue a state license for silica air monitoring, so ask your partner what training they hold. We confirm credentials during vetting before a partner goes Active.

We match the request. The partner decides how, where, and for how long to sample, and they write the report.

Results show exposure during the sampling period. They don't make a workplace compliant. The employer's safety program and Cal/OSHA rules govern that.
