What changes the price
- Number of samples. Each sample is analyzed on its own, so more suspect materials usually means more samples.
- Types of material. Flooring, ceiling texture, wallboard, roofing, and insulation can each need their own samples.
- Lab analysis. Your partner chooses the analysis method, and some materials need a more detailed one.
- How quickly you want results. Ask your partner which turnaround options their lab offers and what each one costs.
- Property size and access. A larger building, or materials in an attic, crawl space, or on the roof, can take more time.
- Type of report. A short results letter and a full survey before a renovation or demolition are different jobs.
- Travel. The distance to the property can be part of the quote.
Ask for a written quote
Before you book, ask your partner for a written quote that lists the samples, the analysis, the report, and any travel charge. Your partner quotes the price.
Before a remodel or demolition
Local air districts set survey and notice rules for renovation and demolition, and your building department sets permit steps. Ask your partner what your project needs before work starts.
Questions
Why doesn't this page show a price?
Top Test Connect doesn't set testing prices. Your partner quotes the price after learning about the job. Ask for the quote in writing before you book.
Do I pay Top Test Connect anything?
No. You never pay us anything. Partner testing companies pay Top Test Connect a referral fee when they complete a job.
How does the service credit work?
Save at least $100 with the Top Test Connect service credit. It goes toward your invoice at Top Test Connect partner testing companies.
Credit applies when you book with the partner testing company we match you with. One credit per request, no cash value.
Can I take asbestos samples myself?
It isn't recommended, because cutting into a material can release fibers. In California, a professional who samples for asbestos holds a Cal/OSHA certification as a Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) or Site Surveillance Technician (CSST).
Do I have to use the tester you match me with?
No obligation. You never have to use the tester we match you with.
